In 2018 The Heart Shopping Centre decided to invest in a new, streamlined website that worked well for visitors who were looking to find information such as opening times, car parking and the postcode easily on all Internet enabled devices.
Located in the affluent Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, The Heart Shopping Centre offers a selection of over 40 high street and independent retailers alongside a variety of restaurants as part of the larger mix of the town. Built in 2007, The Heart Shopping Centre had a clear vision that digital media would form a large part of their marketing strategy from day one including an innovative website, strong social media messaging, consistent email marketing and of course, PR and events.
Our objective for the new website was to make it as user friendly as possible on all devices. To achieve this, our first task was to conduct research and build on the existing analytics to understand how current website users navigate the site. We quickly realised that opening times, the postcode and ‘news and events’ were fundamental parts of the site and should all feature on the homepage.
The new website went live on the 15th October 2018, offering a clean homepage with a strong image carousel making it easy for the shopping centre to showcase stores, news and events. The site, which is fully responsive, benefits from a clear navigation with updated language making it more user friendly and casual. From a back-end perspective, the site is now operating on the very latest content management system and benefits from a host of SEO key features.
