On Monday, October 13th, 2025, Why Media had the privilege of attending and proudly hosting a table at the Margaret Thatcher Centennial Gala Dinner, held at London’s historic Guildhall. The landmark occasion marked 100 years since the birth of Britain’s first female Prime Minister, celebrating her enduring legacy of leadership, conviction, and national pride.
The event, organised by The Margaret Thatcher Centre, brought together over 500 distinguished guests from politics, business, the arts, and media.
Hosted in one of London’s most iconic civic venues, the evening was a fitting tribute to a figure who transformed British politics and left an indelible mark on the country’s economic and social landscape.
The dinner featured speeches from prominent figures, including Sir Mark Thatcher, delivering his first public address on his mother’s life and legacy, and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who reflected on Lady Thatcher’s influence on modern British leadership. Other notable attendees included Dame Joan Collins, Lord Jeffrey Archer, Lord Norman Lamont, and Lord Michael Howard.
The evening began with a sparkling drinks reception in the Old Library and Print Room, followed by a three-course fine dining experience in the Great Hall. In this very room, Margaret Thatcher delivered many of her most memorable speeches. Guests shared reflections on her contribution to Britain’s global standing and her continuing influence on leadership, enterprise, and freedom.
Reflecting on the event, Rowen Squibb, founder of Why Media, commented,
“It was an honour to attend the centennial dinner and host a table on behalf of Why Media. Margaret Thatcher’s vision, determination, and courage continue to inspire all of us in business and media. Being part of an evening that celebrated her legacy alongside leaders and innovators from across the UK was both humbling and energising.”
The Margaret Thatcher Centennial Dinner celebrated the past and reaffirmed enduring principles that continue to shape Britain’s future- themes that resonate strongly with Why Media’s ongoing mission to help brands lead with clarity, confidence, and impact.
