As a leading regional shopping centre destination Woking Shopping needed to join up a number of platforms to help highlight new retailers and restaurants at the centre as well as a new market area. Why Media started the digital marketing strategy from the ground up and the centre now boasts the largest web traffic and social audience in the area.

Website Design

When Why Media started working with Woking Shopping in 2011, their website was non-responsive and difficult to update. For this reason, Why Media created a backend update to the site, enabling the completion of updates in an efficient manner. However, in 2014, we were commissioned to create a new site for the shopping centre.

The new content management system also means that updates to offers, promotions and stores can be easily completed.

User experience was at the heart of the new design. Integrated social media links to the likes of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, live opening hours feed on the homepage and a live feed from Network Rail all help to ensure each visitor can find what they are looking for quickly and easily.

Mobile and Tablet Integration

With over 50% of visits to the site via a mobile device, the key objective was to design the site on varying scales, from the smallest to the largest screen. The new website works on a box style design, which means that  is  easier to navigate by clicking on a large button.

Key Features

Since the new website went live, Woking Shopping has seen a 23% increase in overall website traffic, an increase in dwell time by over 5% and a decrease in bounce rate by over 2,300%! As part of Woking Shopping’s digital strategy, we also run a highly successful social media presence, monthly email marketing, targeted social advertising, SEO management and analytical reporting.
