Following the launch of our 20 year anniversary campaign for The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton on Thames earlier this year, the Why Media team has continued to deliver engaging, high energy events for the local community. This month, we took things up a notch by planning and executing a surprise flash mob in collaboration with Resolution Dance Company, a local dance and cheerleading group based right in Walton on Thames, Surrey.

The event took its inspiration from Disney’s 2006 cultural phenomenon, High School Musical. Shoppers were treated to a lively performance that brought nostalgic hit songs, choreography, and infectious energy directly to the main shopping centre.

Driving Organic Social Traffic and Footfall

The real time reaction online proved just how powerful local live events can be. A single video post uploaded directly from the event generated over 20,000 organic views within hours.

As part of the ongoing 20th anniversary celebrations, Why Media has planned and brought to life a varied calendar of live experiences. Earlier in the summer, we hosted a dedicated outdoor Wimbledon screening area, allowing visitors to gather and watch live match action on a television screen right outside the centre.
