A New Website for The Heart Shopping Centre

   NEWS / 26 Feb 2015

In November 2014, Why Media was delighted to launch a brand new website for The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames Surrey - the third website that Why Media has developed for the centre.

The Heart Shopping Centre is located in the affluent Surrey town of Walton-on-Thames which boasts excellent transport links to London Waterloo and is located within easy access to Esher, Woking and Guildford.

The Heart Shopping Centre consists of over 50 tenants, including some high street favourites such as Carluccio’s, Debenhams, Sainsbury’s, LK Bennett,Wagamama, Sweaty Betty and a Hobbs outlet store.

The Heart Shopping Centre first opened its doors eight years ago and Why Media are thrilled to have been supporting the digital presence for the centre since conception.

The decision to create a new website for The Heart Shopping Centre arose following the analysis of the centre’s website analytics. The findings saw that the majority of traffic was being generated via a mobile or tablet device and at this time the website was not integrated with responsive technology.

The new website has been constructed using the latest innovative technology and functionalities. This means that not only is the website fully responsive and works on all Internet enabled devices, it also boasts a number of key features such as extensive social media integration and the ability to upload video content - a very topical trend for 2015.

Claire White, Senior Account Manager for Why Media explains; “Over the past eight years we have worked very closely with the team at The Heart to ensure that a strong and consistent digital presence has been established. We have seen the social media groups expand at a rapid rate and it was only right that the website, the key hub of all digital activity, was updated to represent a modern approach as well as being easy for visitors to navigate.

Since we launched the website in November, we have seen traffic numbers increase month on month and the bounce rate of the site decrease. We were also able to update the content management system which has allowed the management team at The Heart to update the site a lot more easily - everyone is happy!”
