Following the launch of their new website in September 2014, Woking Shopping has seen their bounce rate fall from 46.47% in September to 4.05% in October thanks to a new innovative design and the latest responsive technology.
Woking Shopping is the key shopping district in Woking, Surrey and comprises of over 170 retailers and restaurants including, Primark, TK Maxx, Bill’s Restaurant, Yankee Store, JD Sports,Cafe Rouge, Paperchase and Carluccio’s.
Why Media has been working with Woking Shopping, a joint venture between Woking Borough Council and asset owners Moyallan for the past two years and support the digital marketing and online presence including their social media activity, email marketing and website management.
The decision to create a new website came following the launch of Market Walk - Woking’s new undercover market which is open 7 days a week. With the new market requiring a website, directors at the centre were keen to ensure that all areas of Woking Shopping remained consistent online.
Claire White, Account Director for Why Media explains; “Woking Shopping is one of the largest shopping centres that we work with and with over 170 stores, all of which requiring their own page on the website, it was one of the largest website we have built to date. The new design is very different from the previous and hosts a large button themed design which is familiar with that used by Windows 8. Feedback on the new site has been fantastic and with traffic increasing by over 50% during the first month of being live, and bounce rates now sitting at under 5%, the hard work seems to be paying off.”
