Why Media is passionate about mental health and the importance of identifying challenges and we are pleased to announce we have partnered up with a leading expert in this field Gerri Davenport

Mental Health is a topic that has definitely been spoken more openly about in the most recent years. However, statistics are still quite shocking; 1 in 4 people will suffer from mental health every year in the UK. The statistic is also based on known cases in which a large percentage of people won't always seek help with their mental health and be treated. As a society mental health has become less frowned upon and is now understood as an illness, not just an emotion that will go away. Many more support networks have been put into place to help people from suffering, for example, counselling, live chat rooms, helplines and therapy groups.

The new website allows people to access help and support in relation to all areas of mental health and seek answers to questions.

Why Media understands the importance of supporting their colleagues with their health and therefore have decided to work alongside Gerri Davenport in producing a bespoke website to promote her counselling and therapy business on a larger scale. Creating a website gives a brand much more recognition and reaches a much wider audience. This is vital in the counselling industry; many people will not reach out or even know that they need help in the first place.

Society is more aware of common mental disorders, for example, depression and anxiety.

Gerri Davenport explains “I am pleased to have been able to work with Why Media as they clearly understand our role and the importance of counselling, more than ever in the shadow of COVID and other world challenges”.

Why Media want to show their support for the counselling industry as they understand that going through counselling is a difficult process. The process can also be very beneficial for people to be able to speak out about their emotions to someone they don't know in a confidential and comfortable setting. Counselling is not only devoted to mental health problems but actually offers a number of services to help people including divorce, bereavement, substance abuse, family problems, trauma and much more.

Carl Piper from Why Media explains; “This is a cause close to everyone's hearts. It’s a topic that appears more and more often now than ever before. Everyone should have a place they can go to get help and feel better. This was the core principle and integrated into the website at every stage of the user journey. The brand message, colours and iconography support this.”
