Pantone provides a universal language of colour that more than 10 million designers and producers around the world rely on. For over 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries. At the end of every year, Pantone announces their colour of the year and here are their names for 2021.
Ultimate Gray and Illuminating are two strong independent colours of grey and yellow which highlight how different elements come together to support one another and best express the mood for Pantone Colour of the Year 2021.
Leitrice Eiseman, Executive director of the Pantone colour institute said “Practical and rock-solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, the union of Ultimate Gray and Illuminating is one of strength and positivity. It is a story of colour that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly. A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit.”
Both colour trends are rooted in hope, optimism and resilience something which we are all taking into 2021, with the outlook of a brighter future somewhere in the horizon./p>
