What is Design Thinking and Why is it so Important?

   NEWS / 04 Sep 2020

Design Thinking is a collaborative and creative process of developing unique solutions. Generally speaking, this approach applies design principles to innovation and strategic planning.

The ideology of Design Thinking was born in the 1990's.  However, one of the most interesting things about Design Thinking is that even nowadays, it plays a significant role within each industry and in every role.  In the modern world, each business requires innovative solutions in order to grow rapidly and become successful. If we ask the employers about what they value most in their employees now, a lot of them would say that hands-on approach is now extremely important.  Design Thinking is also about discovering new opportunities while implementing hands-on approach and, as a result, creating a competitive advantage.

One of the most famous companies which actively practises and applies Design Thinking to solving different types of problems is IDEO. CEO of IDEO, Tim Brown said: ‘’Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success’’. However, there is no single definition for Design Thinking because it is based on imagination, logic, creativity, discovering and learning. It is a way of perception and a way of thinking, which cannot be defined so easily.

Here, at Why Media, all our team of account managers, marketing managers, graphic designers and web developers has an extremely human-centered mindset. We think about the end user while planning and delivering our projects. Our solutions are always focused on the target audience’s experience while all the team members are encouraged to generate ideas and discover different perspectives. Get in touch with us today to help your business grow and to find an ideal solution for your business!
