Why Media Completes Rebrand for GKL Group

Why Media has recently completed a full rebranding project for longstanding client, GKL Group - An established Building, Civil Engineering and Development company based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.


Over the last 15 years, GKL Group has evolved from solely focusing on civil engineering to undertaking a growing collection of building and development projects, many of which have see the redevelopment of unused office blocks in the heart of Peterborough City Centre into executive apartments.


To coincide with the evolution of GKL Group, Director James Brackenbury was keen to split the company into two brands, GKL Group and GKL Developments. This would allow the company to filter their target audiences and present them with the right information on their core services.


Costa Demetriou, Graphic Designer at Why Media who undertook both branding exercises for GKL explained; “Why Media has been working closely with GKL for over five years and during this time we have seen the company evolve significantly. Being part of this evolution was an exciting time for us. As we did not work on the original GKL brand it gave us an opportunity to create something bold, fresh and sector focused.  During the process I worked very closely with James to capture his aspirations for the two brands and deliver something both GKL and Why Media can be proud of. Our understanding of the company and the locations they work in made the process run very smoothly and working in our Peterborough office meant that we could be local to the team at GKL. I am very pleased with the outcome of both of the new identities and look forward to continuing our work with this exciting company.”







As part of this new branding exercise, Why Media’s design team also created a comprehensive set of brand guidelines which will be used for all on going marketing. The team also designed and printed a complete set of corporate stationery including business cards and letterheads.


The new brand continues to be rolled out by the GKL team throughout 2017.

Why Media were delighted to launch the new brand identity and website for ACAI Group, a property investment company with a number of high profile commercial, retail and land assets across the UK.

These assets include 8-10 Grafton Street in Mayfair, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames Surrey and, the flagship store for high-end retail brand Dior on the prestigious Bond Street. The objective of the branding and creative element of this project was to inject colour, depth and a story behind the brand identity and overall messaging of ACAI (the initials of which represent the three owners of the company). Following completion of the branding process, Why Media delivered a full stationery package including business cards, letterheads and compliment slips and a comprehensive set of brand guidelines, ensuring the brand identity and reputation are protected through a stringent set of ‘brand rules’.
