What’s on the Cards for the new iPhone...7?

   News / 12 Sep 2016

Published: 12 September 2016

It’s that time of year again where tech addicts from around the world speculate on the anticipated annual launch of Apple’s new iPhone, and the main rumours are based around the loss of the iconic home button and the launch of just one colour and size.

Bloomberg reports suggest that the next iPhone will be announced on the 7th September, and for now is being referred to as “The iPhone” despite speculations that it could in fact be the iPhone 6SE.

According to rumours, the iPhone 7’s key changes will be the loss of the beloved headphone jack, which adds to the speculation surrounding the launch of Apple wireless headphones,  and a new style home button based on touch pressure, similar to that found in the latest MacBook trackpads.

With regards to the overall look, the screen size is expected to stay at 4.7 inches for the standard phone looking very similar to that of the 6S, with a completely redesigned iPhone anticipated for 2017/18.

As we remain in the era of “The Selfie” with an increased interest in photography, hopes are high for a change to the current camera with reports suggesting that the new iPhone will host a dual-camera set up.

Claire White, Account Director at Why Media comments; “There is always speculation surrounding the launch of new Apple products, but the annual iPhone launch always seems to stir up more interest, especially with marketers and tech companies. As a company that develops innovative websites that support all Internet devices, we are excited to find out exactly what’s in store for the new iPhone. Our analytics continue to show website visitors using their mobile phones more and more to browse websites, social media accounts and company information and therefore, we are hoping that one of the key features of the new iPhone is an improvement in battery life. A recent report also showed that  56% of the UK adult population are addicted to their Smartphone however, battery life continues to be a bone of contention and something no mobile developer seems to overcome.”

Speculation and rumours have already begun for the next new iPhone which will be announced and released in 2017. Apple has reportedly leaked that the all new iPhone will have an entire new look with an edge to edge LED screen and will be made entirely from glass - not a good addition for people prone to dropping their phone!

Unfortunately everything remains to be conjecture and supposition so we will just have to wait until an official Apple launch in September.
