Popular photo and video sharing platform Instagram has just unveiled a new icon on its blog. Inspired by the previous app icon, its new design features a simpler camera with a rainbow-colored gradient.
“The Instagram community has evolved over the past five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more — a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day,” wrote Instagram. “Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become.”
Other than the Instagram icon, the company will also be updating the icons for its other apps: Layout, Boomerang, and Hyperlapse.
Lastly, the platform will be making improvements to how the Instagram app looks. The app’s interface will be simplified to put more focus on your photos and videos, without changing the way you navigate it.
