As we approach our tenth year, Why Media is looking to build on their already strong reputation in delivering innovation and marketing by investing in a passionate, self-motivated and hungry individual who will be responsible for getting the brand in front of established businesses we would love to collaborate with. 

Although previous business development experience is preferred, this is not essential as training will be given. However, the chosen individual will be incredibly hungry and ambitious,

This role requires somebody with a career focused mind, somebody who has their eye on the end goal - to grow Why Media and ultimately grow their income and skillset.

Why Media currently consists of eight individuals, all of whom are specialists in their field and work closely together in the interest of the company and their own life goals. 

As Why Media’s Business Development Associate, you will be the brand ambassador, the face of the company and will set first impressions. Therefore, it is imperative that you are presented impeccably, are well spoken and are able to adapt in accordance with different nationalities and cultures you may meet. 

Your base will be our office in Hertford, Hertfordshire however, due to our close proximity to London and our already established presence in locations like Mayfair, you will be expected to travel into the capital most weeks to attend pitches and build relationships with potential clients.  In addition to London, Why Media is also keen to increase brand exposure and client levels in Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey and Lincolnshire. Therefore, these locations will be at the forefront of your sales strategy. 

Confidence and an open mind to feedback and constructive criticism are key for this role. Although we live in an age of social media, WhatsApp and text messaging, our existing sales strategy has proven to be most successful through verbal communications - picking up the phone and speaking to people (how retro).  This will also be accompanied by attending networking events, direct mail pieces, email marketing and any other initiatives you put your mind to.


Here’s an overview of your responsibilities 

  • Being the ‘Brand Ambassador’ for Why Media

  • Identifying new companies which fit our ‘client criteria’ 

  • Setting up and attending pitches 

  • Presenting pitches using our presentation and case studies 

  • Creating detailed and tailored proposals 

  • Understanding our pricing structure and quoting accordingly 

  • Weekly sales update presented to the Director 

  • Ensuring notes and databases are kept organised and updated 

  • Identifying and attending networking events 

  • Identifying and executing new initiatives that can support business growth

  • Building new client relationships 

  • Liaising with accounts to ensure new clients are set up on our system

  • Liaising with Account Managers to ensure new projects are handed over formerly

Branding & Corporate Stationery Design

Why Media were delighted to launch the new brand identity and website for ACAI Group, a property investment company with a number of high profile commercial, retail and land assets across the UK.

These assets include 8-10 Grafton Street in Mayfair, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames Surrey and, the flagship store for high-end retail brand Dior on the prestigious Bond Street. The objective of the branding and creative element of this project was to inject colour, depth and a story behind the brand identity and overall messaging of ACAI (the initials of which represent the three owners of the company). Following completion of the branding process, Why Media delivered a full stationery package including business cards, letterheads and compliment slips and a comprehensive set of brand guidelines, ensuring the brand identity and reputation are protected through a stringent set of ‘brand rules’.

Go Epsom

Campaign Branding

Go Epsom is the campaign created for Epsom BID. The colourful and vibrant campaign branding was created to promote the town of Epsom, Surrey.

The colour palette and facets were selected to reflect the individual aspects of the town such as shopping, dining and entertainment, while still working together as a whole to form the brand identity.
