Becoming part of an award-winning design and marketing agency is one of the most exciting opportunities currently on the job market, and we cannot wait to welcome you.
Since 2010, Why Media has been delivering the best in website development, graphic design and marketing for some of the world's most exciting companies. With offices in Hertfordshire, London and Spain, our agency is fast-paced, dynamic, initiative obsessed and probably one of the most ambitious companies you could work for.
Following recent growth, despite Brexit, Covid and the new energy crisis, we have continued to win new retained clients, build relationships and enhance our brand awareness. Now, it’s time to welcome fresh new talent to the Why Media family.
More About The Role
As a Graphic Designer who already has experience working in a varied designer role, either for another agency or in-house, working on multiple design projects, you will be welcomed into Why Media as an individual of responsibility, knowledge and experience to work on a handful of existing retained clients, as well as supporting the growth of the agency’s client-based.
As a full-service agency, each retainer varies in size, budget and service; therefore, you will be expected to understand a varied collection of clients in terms of their preferred design style, design requirements and brand guidelines.
As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality graphic design services with a large focus on branding and website design (with knowledge of UI). Additionally, you will also support the design of both print and digital creative, from social media assets and digital banners to magazines, brochures and external signage.
Why Media has an outstanding reputation for delivering bespoke, Google-friendly websites that offer an enhanced user experience through innovative design. Therefore, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of UI, with interest in technical know-how to ensure design and development can work seamlessly.
The agency is also known for delivering excellent branding projects, from creating a brand from scratch to rebranding and creating in-depth brand guidelines. These are all aspects that our new Graphic Designer will be responsible for.
This role will only suit a creative with the highest level of detail when it comes to design work but is also incredibly organised and able to manage their time and workload to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the expectations of the client.
Although this role is not directly linked to delivering income for Why Media, all team members are expected to be commercially aware. This is delivered by ensuring you are aware of the services within and out of scope when working directly with clients.
Our Culture - Fast-paced, ambitious, transparent, forward-thinking team players!
In the first instance, you will be working on several existing retained clients however, this role will also see you support the sales process by creating updated sales presentations, tender documents and more.
As a Graphic Designer with experience, this role comes with a moderate level of responsibility, and our clients' expectations are deemed high. This will be an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to grow your career and show the industry what you’re made of. Sometimes, you will be client-facing and may take the lead on projects. For this reason, it is essential that you can conduct yourself in a professional manner and have the highest level of communication. This role will only suit those who can take on constructive criticism and use it to grow and involve projects.
Although previous agency experience isn’t essential, you must be able to show previous experience working on several projects and have the ability to self-manage your time to ensure all deadlines are met.
Unlike in-house Graphic Designer roles, working within an agency is fast-paced and often involves managing several projects in tandem, hence the importance of organisation. Everything that we do also revolves around the highest level of communication, both between colleagues and, of course, clients.
A can-do, problem-solving approach is essential for this role and will ensure you see growth. Working as a team is everything; however, being able to take ownership is highly important.
This role is based within our Hertford office; however, you may sometimes be required to visit a site or potential new client. Most clients and potential clients are located within London or the surrounding counties and generally can be visited in one day.
