Joining as a Marketing and Communications Assistant, Alfred Groom will be working within the Marketing Team alongside other core team members, including Junior Marketing Manager Lucy Loughrey and Marketing and Communications Assistant Libby Norman. Alfred will be responsible for social media management, content creation and marketing strategies, along with other marketing-related tasks.

Why Media has a new arrival for November!

Alfred is a recent BA Business and Management graduate from the University of Reading. During Alfred’s time at university, he was the founder and 2022/23 president of the Pop Culture Society. While president, Alfred gained Reading Students’ Union accreditation for the Pop Culture Society and organically grew their Instagram following through strategic posts and strong community management.

Alfred’s third-year university modules were heavily focused on marketing and media. In addition to this, Alfred achieved a first-class grade on his dissertation project: A Study on the Effectiveness of Traditional and Digital Fashion Marketing Post-COVID: A British Context.

In his own words, Alfred stated, “Through my experiences at university, I developed an extreme passion for marketing, and having the chance to work with a succeeding, reputable, and prosperous marketing agency will allow me to learn and develop into a successful marketing professional that I have always dreamt of becoming. I have a keen interest in TikTok and hope to use this social channel as a key platform for promoting and advertising among new demographic audiences. I cannot wait to begin my marketing career with Why Media, and I am extremely excited for what the future holds”.

Claire White, Agency Parnter at Why Media and Head of Marketing, had this to say about Alfred’s arrival, ‘It’s a real pleasure to welcome Alfred into the Marketing Team at Why Media. Despite only being with us for a short time, Alfred has already made an impact through his creativity, ideas and proactive mindset. His ability to tackle everything with confidence leaves me excited to see what he can bring to the table for both Why Media and our client-based.’
