ACAI Group, who is a privately owned family business investing in commercial, residential, offices, shopping centres and high street retail units, approached Why Media to create a brand identity, including full branding suite and a bespoke website following their longstanding experience working with the agency on associated projects including O&H Properties and The Heart Shopping Centre.  This project would bring challenges as we aimed to bring a modern twist to a very traditional industry.

Project Stages

Why Media came into this project at the very early stages, prior to the company acquiring their portfolio. This gave us the opportunity to really understand what ACAI Group was all about. Our already long-standing relationship with the company owners meant that we already knew the culture and values of this family-owned business.

With ACAI being a fruit but also making up the initials of each family member, we wanted to somehow combine these to portray family values and flourishing investments, something we feel really does come out of the brand.

This project didn’t come without challenges. Despite our knowledge of the Directors and the industry, this branding project overran our usual three “look and feel” concepts and involved four different graphic designers before a concept was selected.  Adding a modern flair to a very traditional industry was exciting yet a lot harder than it seems. Despite this, the overall outcome of the branding is some of our proudest work to date.

Following the selection of the brand identity, our team of designers got to work at creating a full creative suite for the brand. This included the usual business cards, compliment slips, letterheads and email footers but also, branded merchandise like umbrellas and mugs.  Comprehensive brand guidelines have been created and uploaded online, ensuring that the whole team has access to the current guidelines when required. These have been put in place to protect the brand moving forward.

Alongside the branding came an innovative website which puts user experience and functionality at the forefront. The website benefits from high-level photography, put together by our architectural photographer and motion graphics, giving a sophisticated and animated edge to the homepage.

Since the website went live in 2018, ACAI Group has continued to work with Why Media to ensure the website evolves. A digital communications strategy is now also underway.

Why Media were delighted to launch the new brand identity and website for ACAI Group, a property investment company with a number of high profile commercial, retail and land assets across the UK.

These assets include 8-10 Grafton Street in Mayfair, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames Surrey and, the flagship store for high-end retail brand Dior on the prestigious Bond Street. The objective of the branding and creative element of this project was to inject colour, depth and a story behind the brand identity and overall messaging of ACAI (the initials of which represent the three owners of the company). Following completion of the branding process, Why Media delivered a full stationery package including business cards, letterheads and compliment slips and a comprehensive set of brand guidelines, ensuring the brand identity and reputation are protected through a stringent set of ‘brand rules’.
